TrulyObscure: "How did it hold up? It blew every other wireless card out of the water…"
Newly released review on the brand new HFWFG200 Wi-Fire, the Long Range Wi-Fi Adapter of choice worldwide (Two product headline – go to the bottom of the page for the Wi-Fire).
TrulyObscure says it “blew every other wireless card out of the water” … although they also noted, ”except for some newer 802.11n devices”.
We’re going to have to do some additional testing on that last point. There has been no 802.11n card that we’ve tested that has beaten the Wi-Fire at range. Surely close up and we fully support having an internal b/g/n card backed-up by a Wi-Fire for challenging situations and especially when you are Wi-Fi mobile with your laptop.
But even basic physics works against the 802.11n cards beating the Wi-Fire at range. But TrulyObscure has obviously uncovered conditions where that happened and, being the perfectionists and improvement nuts we are, we need to work harder to define what those conditions are, determine how that happened, and make sure it doesn’t happen again.
As MaximumPC said, the Wi-Fire has “Unbelievable range. Best through-put at range, bar none.” Those tests included 802.11n cards and the Wi-Fire still had “unbelievable range”.
We want to thank TrulyObscure for their review of the Wi-Fire and even more for the sterling recommendation on the Wi-Fire’s long range performance.
