WCM2.0 for Mac Review Copy Now Available!
There’s a fundamentally complete “Wi-Fire Connection Manager 2.0 for Mac” Review Copy on the site now.
While it’s almost 100% complete, it is still a “pre-release” and there may be a few minor bugs or quirks that will be eliminated before the public release.
The download includes an Uninstaller that will uninstall 1.0, 1.1 and prior pre-releases of 2.0.
There is also a Quick Intallation Guide in PDF format. Page 5 of that Guide has the release notes.
There are a few items that will be different in the public, or production, release, and they all have to do with the Menu Extra:
- It will include an icon with the current connection signal strength indicated.
- It will report the signal strength of each visible connection and whether or not each is secured.
- The software will run as a menu extra and not in the dock as it does in this current Review Copy.
- The GUI will be accessible from the menu extra if you need to add or change connection configuration settings.
We have been very pleased with the test results. Our testing employs 19 of our own wireless routers and all potential configuration settings on each. Additionally, we do field testing using numerous Wi-Fi hotspots.
We hope all of you will be pleased as well but if you have any issues or want to make any suggestions, please contact Support.
